No, not John McCain but rather Lord Horatio Nelson, in whose honor a noble column in Yarmouth, England, didst arise. True, Lord Nelson was shot through the spine by a French sniper at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
Being dead for 203 years, though, is but a minor inconvenience for the seafaring British hero. An Aspers-backed casino complex was expected to sail through a vote yesterday. But when asked to ponder possible peril to the structural integrity of Nelson's monument, Yarmouth city fathers told Aspers & Co., "We'll get back to you." A gaming/hotel/retail development is obviously preferable to a "wasteland" on the city's ocean front ... but don't mess with Admiral Nelson!
Steve Wynn suffers fools. Maybe it wouldn't be necessary for the Wynn Resorts CEO to be given the bum's rush at the end of this interview segment if his interviewers didn't spend so much time posturing and name-dropping. Like that's gonna impress him.
