Gold River Casino, in Oklahoma, found a way to get jiggy with the election. (Sen. John McCain "won" the mock plebiscite, with 52% of the handle pulls.)
This prompted the following missive from the event's promoter (which I've edited very slightly, so I doesn't read quite so much like a poem by ee cummings):
[J]ust stumbled across your blog and wanted to take a minute to thank you for calling our (pick a president) [YouTube] video "must see tv".
[W]e had a lot of fun creating the promo and the response was beyond belief; every slot, poker, BJ, and restaurant seat was filled on election night, which is not historically a great gaming night.
(Perhaps our Oklahoma City correspondent could be so kind as to share his thoughts on Gold River, assuming he's played there.)
MGM Mirage curbs retail. Word is just coming in of cutbacks in hours at MGM Mirage's Las Vegas stores. Watch our Today's News column for "the 411," as those 'Net-savvy kids call it.
