So this was why the Better Half couldn't get a parking spot when she went to House of Blues last Saturday night: The Mandalay Bay garage was full-up with Jonas Brothers fans. I know not of these Brothers of Jonas (are they clean-cut Mormon lads, mayhap?), but they seem to inspire squeeing teenybopper rapture second only to anything relating to the movie Twilight.
Having been too young to experience Beatlemania and too snobbish (at the time) to get a first-hand hit of ABBAmania, I ask you whether Jonasmania is the Next Really Big Thing. According to a report filed by photographer Erik Kabik, it might be: "I have shot hundreds, maybe thousands of concerts over the years and this was memorable one! If I could comment on the music I would, but between shooting and the high-pitched scream of thousands of young girl ... I just couldn't hear it. I can only relate the experience to my father's stories of seeing the Beatles and how the 'screams were as loud as the music.' I met fan after fan who expressed their undying loyalty to these boys and had many offers to 'assist' me in the show with my photo duties. I always have to explain to concert fans that 'I just work here and, sorry but I can't bring people in' ... but tonight more than usual. There was a fever in the air for this band."
