So it's official: America is stuck with six more years of Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R) and Nevada's own Sen. Harry Reid (D) made nice with Sen. Joe Liebermann [your party here] all for naught. Reid was never going to get to 60 votes in the Senate and was probably suffering what the Japanese call "victory disease."
Which is relevant insofar as the death rattle of Sheldon Adelson's '527,' Freedom's Watch was an attack ad on Chambliss' opponent. So Adelson can say he went out (of U.S. politics) with a win. I can't think of anything nice to say about Adelson's beneficiary, Chambliss, so I'll just say his victory was a foregone conclusion, the runoff a mere formality and Democrats were foolish to invest more than token political capital.
Sen Chambliss is a second rate national politician who beat a third rate state politician. We in Georgia do wish to thank national power brokers, national money and Nevada scribes to show us (their) true path.
