Some sort of upper-respiratory bug knocked me out of action for a day or so. Hence, not much blogohrrea whilst I get caught up on other LVA duties. Now, to business ...

When the Jamaican government was teasing its announcement of the nation's first casino, it said it would go with "an international group with a good track record of developing hotels and casinos." So, the decision has been handed down and, with perfect illogic, Jamaica has gone with Tavistock Group, whose primary areas of expertise and experience appear to lie in golf tournaments, high-end residential communities and the restaurant business.

But that means there's still a lucrative casino-management contract out there, in all likelihood. So, as they like to say in reggae, everything gonna be all right.
