How can $600 per person possibly "give our economy a boost" if it's also "going to help Americans offset the high prices we're seeing at the gas pump, the grocery store ... " You'd have to be an out-of-touch elitist not to have noticed the pain at the pump (some of it inflicted by our 51st state, Iraq) or the escalating prices at your neighborhood grocer. Heck, Sam's Club and Costco are rationing rice, to prevent hoarding.
We sure could use some economic stimulus right here in Nevada, so if y'all feel like taking your $600 apiece and making the drive to Reno, Laughlin, Mesquite or even Lady Las Vegas (where LVA's Pocketbook of Values could stretch those sawbucks a bit farther), by all means do so. But I suspect most Americans have somewhat more pressing concerns at the moment, concerns that a $600 government loan is inadequate to address.
While the price of gas is painful please remember
we still pay the lowest price per gallon in the
world. Also please remember our unemployment is
still at its lowest point in decades.
