Nevada: Banana republic or just bananas?

On the very day that a special session of the Lege is being convened to try and dig the Silver State out of the ever-deepening chasm that is the state budget, we get hit with a double-whammy of the ongoing increasingly silly and unquestionably alarming collapse of the chaotic governorship of "Midnight Jim" Gibbons -- and within a single morning!

Yet the wheels of governance continue to turn as though The Gibber didn't exist -- which, in the sense of being relevant to anything that actually happens in Nevada, he doesn't. Muckety-mucks in the Lege are telling Steve Sebelius that they're ready to quietly rubber-stamp a bunch of budget cuts and then sneak home under cover of dark, just in time for the weekend. Or something like that.
