Honest to God, there's strong VP buzz about heretofore obscure Rep. Chet Edwards (D-Tex.). Excuse me, but Chet WHO????? I hope this is just a fake-out and, if it isn't, I'm going to start referring to the presumptive Republican nominee as "President-to-be John McCain."
Even a stopped watch is accurate twice a day and, much as I hate to admit it, local publisher Sherman Frederick gets this one right. Actually, Bill Richardson was my first choice among the 847 Democratic presidential candidates -- a sure sign that his goose was cooked. Unless you count Al Gore, I've voted for exactly one winning presidential candidate (Bill Clinton, '92) in my life.
