There's a fascinating debate unfolding at VegasTripping.com. It gets rolling with a whole slew of provocative and difficult-to-answer questions about CityCenter (and its long-term implications for the Strip) from Chuck Monster, whereupon Hunter Hillegas chimes in with some well-considered responses, and things escalate quite productively from there. It's one of the best threads I've seen on the Internet in quite a while, so head on over, check it out -- and contribute, by golly!

If there's anything likely to fill the void that will be left by the impending departure of Mamma Mia!, it's the Vegas debut of Point Break Live! Consider: They both have audience participation and exclamation points in their titles. 'Nuff said.
While the official press release doesn't deign to mention the opening date (Oct. 1), the performance schedule (Wed.-Sat. at 10 p.m.) or ticket prices (????), why quibble? After all, it does contain this wonderful disclaimer: "don't think that just because Point Break LIVE! has made it to the Las Vegas Strip that it's becoming another glitzy spectacle with amazing special effects. Point Break LIVE!’s producers are committed to keeping the ridiculously lo-budget, lo-fi aesthetic of cardboard waves and inflatable plastic palm trees that makes the show that much more hilarious … and it's not just because they don't have any money."
Think of it as the anti-Cirque. Awesome!
