An indirect one, to be sure. The Wall Street Journal has the details. Let's just say that if Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) gets this through, execs at Harrah's Entertainment and Station Casinos will breathe a sigh of relief. Heck, the Station braintrust (which is somewhere to the right of Gen. Curtis LeMay) might even feel compelled to make a campaign donation or two to Reid's 2010 reelection effort.

Okay, now that this thing works:

It seems to me in an economy were people are being forced out of their house, it's a very poor priority for Harry Reid to make sure Steve Wynn doesn't have to sell some art.

You know what we really need? A better return on federal money. As of 2005 we were the 49th state in the union in terms of federal investment, receiving 65 cents of projects and assistance per dollar of tax money that went to Washington.

I have to agree with people who think the stimulus should more numerous, smaller bills. I am not one of those liberals who gets scared of upsetting the opposition, but Reid is not only working to kill the bill by doing things like this, but giving Republicans ammunition for years to come. Meanwhile, things that SHOULD be in there will be ignored or handled poorly.
