Yes, this is the 1,000th Stiffs & Georges entry, according to what the server tells me. Technically, it's #1,0023, if you include a pair trio of entries that were posted but subsequently deleted. Still, it seems like yesterday that this former Las Vegas Business Press blog rose from the grave, all mummy-like, under the auspices of Las Vegas Advisor. A special thanks goes to the legal department of Stephens Media, which could have raised a beef about the title but graciously didn't.
Of course, the biggest thanks goes to you, the reader, and not only for putting up with the vagaries of your humble correspondent (pictured above). If it were not for reader demand, this blog would not have been revived in the first place, which is a debt I can never adequately repay. But perhaps these first thousand dispatches have been a decent downpayment.
So here's to the most helpful and civilized group of readers and commentators for which a blogger could wish. I thank you from the bottom of my twisted, Stewie Griffin-like heart.
