Minutes ago, this video fell across the cyber-transom of our e-mail "in" box. It's a look back on "Earth Hour" (which this environmentalist thought a feel-good stunt at the time and sees no reason to change his opinion) and I'm uncertain whether the overriding message is, "Wow! Dramatic energy saving!" or "Yowzers! Hella marketing gimmick!"

Yours truly missed Earth Hour, which at least must have been a remarkable sight. I was sound asleep ... practicising my preferred form of "energy conservation," you might say.

Earth Hour is taken REALLY seriously in Europe for some reason. I was listening to BBC World Service one evening and a guy from somewhere (France?) was practically talking about it in terms of the ground floor of a revolution. In Canada it's trendy-popular, and in America it seems to be sneered at.

I saw it here. I thought it was interesting to see the hotels in a whole new way.

Rush Limbaugh ranted for the better part of three days' broadcasts about it's being a leftist conspiracy, and how he "showed 'em" by powering up all the lights & appliances in his house(s) - & sending his private jet plane from the east coast to the west coast, then back, with no passengers.

What a waste of time! Loonies who want to see us go back to the stone age, when there is no "proof" that there is really a problem. The Problem is India and China where the air is so bad you can't breath!

Jim: What makes you think we wouldn't look a lot like China without regulation? Tech industry aside, most of our production practically dates back to the industrial revolution.

Mike, 2 things:
- Rush probably wouldn't have dared to order any takeout from the "left coast" for fear of contamination by Obama-centric conspirators' spit.
- If he had, his personal jet wouldn't have been able to return to "the promised land" because of overburgerloading.
