"There's some irony that the ones who stake out the highest moral positions are the ones who literally get caught with their pants down." -- local Democratic Party consultant Gary Gray on Sen. John Ensign's hasty admission of an extramarital affair. Ensign's indiscretion may have been forced into the open due to attempted blackmail by his mistress' husband. The senator's conduct is inappropriate on so many different levels it will surely put the kibosh on any further Ensign-for-president speculation. Review-Journal editorial writers, meanwhile, pull imaginative conspiracy theories out of their collective sphincter.

Ensign voted for just about every "intrusive" measure to emerge from the Bush/Cheney White House, so if you want limited guvmint, Ensign's not your man.

Well, we haven't been attacked since 9/11, so he should be reelected for keeping us safe, right?
Besides, he doesn't have as many mistresses as Bin Laden has wives!
