I get to Vegas about 7 or 8 times a year. I ride the monorail almost every trip. I have, a few times, ridden when the cars were pretty empty, but most of the time, the cars are more than
half full. During conventions, like CES or the Builders Show, or other big conventions, the cars are packed in full. Even though, for me, the cost to use the monorail is not that bad, for
most folks, it may be a little expensive.

Most of the times that I visit Vegas are not busy weekends or week days, so my opinion is not one sided.

The monorail was a good idea, it just may be too costly. Also, if and when visitation increases (along with the economy doing better), ridership will obviously go up.
Its a much better idea then a train from Victorville to Vegas. I still can't figure that one out. If I am going to drive from the San Fernando Valley to Victorville, why not just drive the rest
of the way?

With the deuce running, I find it no surprise to have the monorail empty. Even with just the CAT buses running, I rode the mono out of curiosity only. Such a short span at such a cost, I'll ride the bus thank you.

I'm in Vegas at least twice a year for trade shows and maybe a vacation. I always book a hotel on the monorail line. I used to rent a car, but unless we're going to make a pilgrimage to downtown or go sightseeing, getting from the hotel (Harrah's, Flamingo, Hilton, Sahara) to the convention center is just more effective with the monorail.

I know others prefer upscale hotels. But basically if you're staying center strip or have quick access to the center strip through Harrah's, you can get to most anywhere you want to go.
