Will Planet Hollywood's big-ticket extravaganza, Peepshow, even last until my July 2 CityLife review runs? Just maybe ... but I don't like the odds for this one making it to the six-month mark.
Various types of faintheardness have dogged this production from the get-go. A Vegas T&A show sans toplessness? Much-ballyhooed headliners signed to only three-month contracts? Peepshow had "low expectations" writ large.

Peepshow: Soon with 100% less Mel B.?
As the revue awaits the arrival of Holly Madison and her two left feet, it's losing Dancing with the Stars winner Kelly Monaco, who will presumably reclaim her niche on General Hospital. However, as Monaco's headed out the door, she might trip over the luggage of co-star Mel B. The DWTS finalist and ex-Scary Spice is reportedly being dropped, leaving Robert Earl's casino-resort with less than two weeks to scare up a replacement and get her prepped.
This unwelcome news doesn't come as a complete surprise after Norm! reported that Mr. Brown was becoming a major nuisance over at Planet Ho. But it does leave the problem of a headliner-driven show whose "name" talent will now be a woman best known for being the armpiece of Hugh Hefner and Criss F. Angel, starring opposite ... who? Earl & Co. could revamp Peepshow as an out-and-out nudie act, though director Jerry Mitchell might prefer swallowing hemlock to that bitter pill. More importantly, a star-free Peepshow would have greater difficulty justifying its ticket price.
Can Peepshow be rescued from being an expensive bust (so to speak)? Dunno, but we'll soon be out of non-gratuitous excuses to post photos of Mel B.
