Slot Clubs
Some new; some not so new but you may have missed them:
Fiesta Casinos
Fiesta Casinos does not combine points with other Station-owned casinos. Although they are owned by the same umbrella company, they are run as two different companies. I don’t know the reason why. At one time there was talk that their slot clubs would all be merged and use the Boarding Pass card, but that did not happen. The Fiestas have their Amigo slot club. And there is also group of smaller casinos that have their own “Wild Card” slot club. You can get information about all ther properties at their Web site.
Harrah’s Properties
Diamond tier yearly requirement is now 11,000 Reward Credits, but many expect this to rise next year. Seven Star remains at 100,000 Reward Credits. It takes $5 coin-in to earn one point on slot machines; $10, on video poker. Bonus points don't count toward tier requirements.
I just found out that you can no longer buy Visa credit cards with your Harrah's points as you could do in the past in Las Vegas. This option is not in the new catalog that came out October 1.
Station Casinos
Someone wrote to me: “Can you tell me the Stations various bounceback requirements for locals?”
I wish I could!!!! Used to be there was a schedule based on how many points you earned during a 90-day period. Recently they switched to using theoretical to determine the bounceback. So now there doesn't seem to be any way to know. If you play only one particular game, you might get a rough idea after keeping track of your mailer for a number of months. But if you play different types of games, you would probably never be able to figure it out exactly.
One thing that seems to have stayed the same is the period for qualification - a 90-day one rather than 3-month. For example, your September mailer will be based on play from May 3 (not May 1) through July 31. So we never play on the 1st or 2nd of any month, because one month out of 3 that play would not count in figuring your bounceback. Bob Dancer wrote a good article about this subject.
Why do casinos bend over backwards to do things in a way that confuses – and irritates - the players?
Boyd Gaming Casinos
Boyd Gaming has launched "B Connected," a consolidated players club program that unites all their gaming properties across the country with a single card. It is not fully implemented, but you can get some details at their Web site.
Cannery Casinos
There are plans to connect the slot clubs of the “old” Cannery on the North side and the new Eastside Cannery but right now you need separate cards although you can use points at either casino, no matter where they were earned. Details about the various tiers can be found at their Web site.
