Tournaments
Brad and I don’t do tournaments as often as we used to. They are too often very time-consuming, with too many entrants chasing too little prize money. But to tell you the truth, we are probably getting a bit jaded. It has been 25 years since our first trip to Las Vegas and we have been in a lot of tournaments since that time. Pounding those buttons and all that screaming and hollering just doesn’t seem to get us very excited any more. (Of course some cynics may say that after you win a half million in a tournament, it’s all downhill from there! :)
Anyway, we recently were in an invitational tournament at Excalibur where we were put into three teams, headed by three hosts. Individual prizes weren’t huge – each person on the winning team won $1000; those on the two losing teams got nothing. But it was a fun event because of the enthusiasm of the hosts, who got in the spirit with a prize fight theme, dressing the part. Our host is Marcy, the fighter on the right. We didn’t win but we pounded those buttons fiercely, defending our pride and supporting our brave leader.

We have a tournament over Mother's Day weekend.
We'll do our best to defend the pride of tournament goers everywhere!
