Silver Strike machines are becoming almost a thing of the past. Hard to find them anywhere today. In fact the last time in the El Cortez I think it is gone. We ended up over the many years of visits with 84 Strikes including a $40 from Wynn. Nice to win one early but if you don't can get expensive over the long run.
egglady I'm glad you won a strike! I wanted to see if it was possible! LOL
The strike machine is located between the doors where valet is and the players club. Just come in the main valet doors (Is this considered the front?) and turn right and you will see it on the right before you reach the players club. It was very easy too find! But hard to win one. I guess I had to prime it.
Yes, it's on Fremont Street (there is only one "e" in Fremont -- it's in honor of a great explorer of the Western United States -- John C. Fremont if I remember correctly) but it is actually three blocks East of where the Viva Vision screen ends and two blocks East of the end of the Fremont Street Experience (at Las Vegas Boulevard).
The first block past the FSE on the same side of the street as El Cortez has the bar/arcade called "Insert Coin(s)."
