Craps

(return to complete list of casino games)

The casino edge is a low 1.4% for the line bets-pass, don't pass, come, and don't come. Place bets on the six and eight carry a 1.5% casino edge. All other bets on the layout take such a large bite out of your gambling allotment, you should ignore them. Crap layouts are fairly standard (only slight differences in the unfavorable proposition bets), so shopping for good games is not a concern. Shopping for low limits is viable, as even $1 minimum tables can be found. Players who seek maximum dice action at the lowest disadvantage can water down the edge on their total line action by taking (or laying) full odds. Most Las Vegas casinos deal at least 2X odds. The majority allow 3X, 4X, 5X odds which is where you're allowed up to 3X odds or points or 4 or 10, 4X odds on points of 5 or 9 and 5X odds on points of 6 or 8. Some casinos deal 10X odds and the Casino Royale allows up to 100X odds.
