Taste, but waste - M. James (05/03/2009) - 3.5 out of 5 stars
Also saw this on Rachel Ray, but a friend of mine also went there recently and raved about it. There is a gift certificate that you can purchase on restaurant.com, and we bought a $25 certificate for $4. The food was wonderfully prepared (the cornmeal crusted grilled shrimp with chipotle mayo was served on top of a huge hunk of watermelon) and the portions were huge. I had Andy's Hand Hammered (and other adjectives) Pork Tenderloin, which were two huge tenderloins fried to perfection with some cheese and other "stuff" and served on a large bed of horseradish and bleu cheese mashed potatoes. And that was part of the problem. Although I finished most of my meat, the wonderful potatoes and the grilled ear of corn (which I didn't even touch) all went to waste as I had no refrigerator to take it back to. My dad (who has had gastric bypass surgery, but was too stubborn to share a plate with my mom) had the stuffed meatloaf. He almost made himself sick trying to eat as much as he could (he said it was sooooooooo good) and didn't want to waste food, but I'd bet he only finsihed a quarter of it. This may have originally been a locals place, but getting a national celebrity to endorse your place and making discount available to the masses tells me that they want visitors eating there. But I have a hard time with intentionally wasting that much food and have taken a full point off the rating.

We loved this place. It was recommended by a friend of mine so we checked it out. Food was outstanding. The pancakes are the size of large pizzas. Get one and split it. Brown sugar banana was very good. I recommend the breakfast to anyone wanting to get off the strip and have an exceptional meal.
