Aging - vegasvp (09/28/2014) - 3 out of 5 stars
Just returned from a five night stay in the Carson Tower. The rooms are aging and need to be remodeled.

Just got back from a 5-nighter at the GN and all was good! Great room, friendly helpful staff, and outstanding buffet. upgraded to the VIP checking and it was well worth it. We arrived at noon from the 3-hour time difference and checked in immediately... took a NAP. The Kuerig mini is great, but save your self some money, the cost is $10 a 4-pack in the room so we brought our own K-cups and saved $90 over our stay... yea, we like coffee. Thanks GN

Golden Nugget has a great buffet and not much else for low stakes players.

Carson Tower Room - Bob1327 (10/25/2013) - 2.5 out of 5 stars
Just returned from staying at the Nugget. Arrived on Monday and given room nbr 19107. Room is showing its age. On Wednesday, while watching the World Series, I entered the bathroom to see ugly, stenching, black slime backing up into the sink! I immediately called Maintenance and someone came up...after 20 minutes of trying to clear pipes and clean up I was told I would have to change rooms. Luckily, I was upgraded to the Rush Tower, half price, for the remaining two days. Last time I will ever stay in the Carson South Tower, let alone the Nugget. Very disappointing week, to say the least!

OK - vegasvp (10/05/2013) - 3.5 out of 5 stars
I stayed in the Carson Tower. These rooms are showing their age. Nothing wrong with the room, but the furnishings are old and dated. Restaurants are the most expensive downtown. When the Downtown Grand opens, I think they'll be pulling people from the Nugget.

Great Stay - RonnieH (07/21/2013) - 4.5 out of 5 stars
My wife and I stayed here for the first time last month from June 2nd through June 7th and we loved it. We stayed in a Carson Tower Deluxe room. It was very clean and very comfortable. The only thing that we didn't like was the low flow shower. The staff at check in were very friendly and courteous. We were checked in in under 10 minutes. This was our 10th trip to Vegas and our first time staying downtown. The shark tank pool was awesome but extremely crowded. It was often difficult to find 2 chairs open next to each other but not impossible. Grotto was delicious. Also, great breakfast at the Carson Street Cafe. We will definitely be staying at the Golden Nugget again.
