Ok, so I'm gonna be the rare one to actually give the Luxor a decent rating. Compared to its neighbor to the north, I found this hotel to be a whole lot better. I found the staff to be more courteous and friendly than expected, and the rooms were actually larger than I anticipated. Maybe this place has a place in my heart cause I learned to play craps here...which was great because the dealers actually HELPED me learn on the fly. Nice to know that someone is interested in you having a good time while you're potentially losing your money to them.

Too hip for me - Josie's Mom (07/14/2009) - 2 out of 5 stars
Luxor seems to be going for the young crowd with all of the new clubs they are opening. If you appreciate 4 giggling girls sharing one machine right next to you so they can get free drinks, then you will LOVE the Luxor. They seem to cater to the club hoppers and not so much the gamblers anymore.

Would rate it LOWER if I could! - neser45 (05/27/2009) - 1 out of 5 stars
Stayed here in July 2007 and EVERYTHING was a JOKE about this place! They gave us a room that was about 3 miles from the elevator and when I requested to be moved to another they never got back to me.I went to the desk to complain to the manager and he looked at me as if to say,"please, don't bother me,little person". They couldn't PAY me to ever stay there again. What was once a top hotel is now on par with the Wild Wild West!

Love Luxor - hotdogmike (02/22/2009) - 4.5 out of 5 stars
We have stayed at Luxor the past 5 years. We go either right before Christmas or Thanksgiving to take advantage of the cheap rooms and flights. I always tip the front desk agent, which gets things started on a positive note. We always stay in the towers. They are kept very clean. The staff is great, but we alwasy give them the benefit of the doubt, and we kill them with kindness and humor. We love the property and the location.

Why do I feel as if I am in a cave - brianandliss (01/12/2009) - 1.5 out of 5 stars
The casino at the Luxor is too dark! Now, I remember when this casino was bright and it felt like I was in the middle of the action! Now, I feel like I'm in a cave, trying hard to stay awake! Dark is okay for nightclubs, but the casino needs some serious lighting adjustments. Really, does anyone else feel this way?

We just checked out. Stayed the 19th to the 23rd Dec 08. Carpet in the room was not clean. Bathroom needed work, not as clean as it should be. Elevator ride to the 14th floor was shake, rattle & roll, not pleasant. Staff was not friendly, neither were they rude, they just didn't care. Seems as if this place needs a makeover. The $5 charge per night for a phone that was never used is insane. We will not be back

Luxor Suite - stacompul (12/06/2008) - 1 out of 5 stars
Received a deal for 2 nights at the Luxury Suite at the Luxor for $149.00 per night. Generally more than I spend on rooms considering the great deals, but this was well worth the money. Stayed at the Signature and Paris suites which are also exceptional, but the suite at the Luxor may have topped them both.

We stayed at the Luxor twice in the past two years. We like the theme and the casino part of it but the room and hallways definitely need some renovation. We will not stay there again unless we find out they renovated the rooms.

Luxor Stay - rudie9999 (09/03/2008)
We have stayed here twice and used to get realy good offers. Lately the offer have not been that great so we have stayed elsewhere. Too many clubs now and not enough gaming areas. The rooms and the hallways definitely need a make over. Absolutely love the Egyptian theme though.
