Stayed there in 04 and 08 very enjoyable stay would definatley stay again. very large casino only downside not to many $10 blackjack tables but ther were plenty across the street.

West Wing Rooms - SoonerStormchaser (08/14/2009) - 3 out of 5 stars
If you like contemporary, then get a West Wing room. I don't care for that style of contemporary...and I thought it was overly tacky. My biggest beef is that you have to walk through the entire casino...all the shops...past the Grand Garden Arena and monorail station just to get to the pool. If you're looking to lose some weight, that trek should cause you to shed a few pounds.

great room - TECramer (08/04/2009) - 4.5 out of 5 stars
We stayed @ MGM 2 nights in June. We had a room facing NYNY so we had a view of NYNY, Trop, Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay. I love the green lights of the hotel at night, I like to sleep with the sheers drawn so the room is green. Beds are so comfortable. Spent a morning by the pool before it got too hot. All the pools don't open @ 7:00 a.m. Ate @ the coffee shop one night and one morning. Breakfast was good, food and service both. Service @ dinner was lacking and if you didn't want a burger, you were almost out of luck!

Great except for gambling - JanaBanana (08/03/2009) - 3.5 out of 5 stars
Wouild give it more stars if they had cheaper bj/craps and better vp. We stay there in the summer for the pool. Best lazy river. Rooms are nice too but not much of a strip view. We usually eat at the cheaper fast food places. Can get to subway thru the lounge by Rainforest Cafe and not have to go onto the strip. We did eat at Craftsteak and loved it. Our steaks, salads and sides were perfect. Enjoy staying there and then taking monorail to Sahara to gamble.

stayed May 10 and 11th 2009 - ineedaspiderkiller (05/18/2009) - 3 out of 5 stars
We got a great deal for 49 a night including 2 buffet passes per day, 20 slot play and 2 drinks out by the pool. The buffet is nasty...I've heard it's gone down hill but sheesh they charge 30 bucks for dinner on a Sunday nite. Thank-god it was free because if I had paid I would have asked for my money back. The toilet was broken in the room and the matresses need replacing, the room was large for a basic room and it was clean. I don't why they are missing all the good slots....they have removed almost all the progressive machines. Maybe they make most money this way. Be prepared to walk alot there nothing is close. We only stay for the pool, which is GREAT probably one of the BEST pools in town. Lots of spaces if when busy at the basic pools...the river opens around 10..go early to get a good spot.

MGM not so grand - LasVegsTerry (02/27/2009) - 1 out of 5 stars
The rooms were nice but average, nothing special. The real problem is the food. Every place we ate at had poor food quality. 4 of us ate at Craftsteak and all 4 of us had the worst steaks ever. My moms steak was so tough that the waiter had trouble cutting it. After taking the price of my mom's steak off the bill, the bill was still $330 with tip.

good casino - vegasfan (12/08/2008) - 4 out of 5 stars
Nice casino, I like to gamble here. Always had a lot of fun. I admit that you can find unfriendly dealers at MGM, so just switch the table in this case.

Overall Experience - rmhern1 (12/01/2008) - 2 out of 5 stars
Very low employee morale! = Poor service All employees (except for housekeeping) have attitude problems, and just don't seem to care if you enjoy your stay or not. Just tip us and get out of town. Dealers were surly and snarly, and the pit bosses just didn't seem to care either. Service in the VIP areas wasn't much better either. Rooms are outdated (although very clean), and ours needed several light bulbs. The (24 hour)Studio Walk Cafe is the one exception with quick service, and better than average menu.

rooms and escalators - sharon17314 (09/26/2008) - 2.5 out of 5 stars
We have stayed at MGM at least two times a year. The last two times we have stayed there the air conditioning in the rooms have been horific. We called maintenance several times but to no avail. We finally had to put our mattress on the floor in front of the air to even get some sort of air movement. I don't thing that should happen in a hotel of this magnitude. Another thing that has happened each and every time we have stayed at the MGM for the last 5 -6 years is that half of the time the escalators are not working in the parking garage. We have mentioned all this to the concierge and at check out, even filled out surveys with our name and phone number and did not even get a response. We just booked our 6th trip to vegas for this year and MGM is not even in the picture. We were offered comp rooms at Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch and a host of other places. We decided to take our business elsewhere. We have always received part of our stay comped at MGM but no host has ever sought us out. Where other casinos that have comped us, a host has alway sought us out if not to just say HI but to see if we needed anything. We may not always take them up on the free meals but it means a heck of a lot.

Hotel and Casino - pattisw (09/23/2008) - 4.5 out of 5 stars
We have stayed at the MGM 3 times in the past 2 years. We love the rooms and the casino. After the first visit we were offered 3 nights free for the next two times and have offers for 3 nights when we go back the next time. There are tons of slots and table games. The rooms are clean and have plenty of space. The only thing we didnt like was the restaurants.Too pricey, even the cafe is expensive. The buffet is not very good either. But you can hop on the monorail and go lots of places to eat so that isnt much of a problem.

W WONDERFUL HOTEL EXCEPT FOR THE RESTAURANTS - RCRUNCHY (07/22/2008) - 5 out of 5 stars
This was our first visit to MGM Grand. We normally stayed at the Riv but were dissapointed in how little they did for loyal customers in the way of comps and ongoing plumbing problems every time we stayed there. We got a $69 rate thru our players club card so decided to bite the bullet and try the place. We have friends who love it. When we arrived we asked about any upgrades and they told us we could have a bungalow suite for $80. My boyfriend was iffy at first but we decided to go got it. As long as it was not in the west wing. (the west wing is the old Marina hotel and the rooms are very small with no privacy, even the bellman told us the only people who like those rooms are young couples who cant get enough of each other). Anyway the room was large and clean and a great value for the price. The bathroom with his and hers sinks made us both very happy and while our room overlooked hooters and the airport it was quiet. We were on the 21st floor of the Grand tower so except for one stop on the 4th floor one day we usually had an express elevator. Everyone was nice on the staff and very helpful and even security was willing to give directions, (they are not alway). I admit the place is big and even the signs can sometimes throw you off but overall one you figure it out it is just a huge rectangle. Our only complaints were the food. We ate at the studio cafe the first night and it was a dissaster. We just ordered burgers medium well but our server could not understand us and when we got them they were rare. It took over half an hour to get them and then not only were they raw but the meat was not very good either. Many of the restaurants are very high unless you go for fast food and there just seem to be no middle of the road choices. Still we woudl stay there again in a heartbeat and are in fact planning our next trip for Christmas.
