Perfect in all ways - kcjim755 (02/05/2010) - 4 out of 5 stars
We stayed there Feb 2009 and was pleasantly surprized. We had Premier rooms which I would recommend. I felt we had Sheraton quality with Motel 6 prices. The casino was just the right size, not too big or too small. Restaurants were good and fair priced. We loved the McDonalds for breakfast instead of full service restaurant. Bite show was awesome if you are a little bit freaky be sure and check it out. Yes it is on the North end but we kind of liked that because we could get in and out easily with the rental car without having to fight a lot of traffic. This is a great value hotel. We are headed back March 2010 and will let you know if they meet our first years experience.

Enjoyed our stay - First timer (12/04/2009) - 3.5 out of 5 stars
First off, I would have given this place 4 stars if it wasn't so far away from the "main strip". We knew this coming in, but it was just a very hot month there. Stayed about 5 nights. My girlfriend enjoyed the stay there also. It was just the two of us. We never ate there, always took the monorail to the main strip for food. We got a pretty good deal for the flight and room. Check-in was not brief, but not too long either. Felt like a normal hotel anywhere else. The concierge desk was nice. I think some people get into trouble when they expect too much from a place and also act in a certain way when talking to the front desk. We didn't have any trouble checking in. The only surprise we had was a "fee" that was added onto our room. I think it was $15. I can't remember what it was for but there wasn't anyway around it. Overall, we had didn't have any problems with our room. The elevators were a bit slow. The pool and the fitness room were above average. We would recommend this hotel for couples or a group of friends that don't mind walking. Not for families due to how far away this place is from the main strip. I recommend riding the bus thing that they have there. It's very cheap. Also, if you don't have a car, get the monorail pass. It's about a 10-15 minute walk (through Sahara). Buy multiple days. It's cheaper that way. We would say that it's good for people looking for a cheap stay at a casino that just wants to gamble and not sight see. Taxi ride to and from the airport is expensive. If you're not in a hurry, just take the less expensive charters, but it may take longer to get to hotel.

Stayed 5 nights in late September. Had no problems. Had booked the room in July at a deep discount, on the Strat web site. Price quoted was what I paid. Casino was busy, had a few small wins in the Casino. Our 6th stay at the Strat. we have never had a problem and really enjoyed all of them. Will be back in December for several more nights.

how to react to adversity - m3thodM4n (09/26/2009) - 3 out of 5 stars
Hey Neser - regardless if you are in the right or not ... if you act like a jerk, you will be treated like a jerk. why make a huge scene when you could have resolved the issue without losing your dignity and creating animosity with those you are trying to negotiate with. Sounds like you behaved like a total jerk.

Would rate it LOWER if I could! - neser45 (09/14/2009) - 1 out of 5 stars
I just returned from Vegas today and I couldn't wait to get on here with some choice comments about this DUMP! I booked this place in FEBRUARY of this year.At the time they had WHAT LOOKED LIKE a great deal of 45% off of certain rooms so I thought I'd jump all over it.I booked the Strip Premier View room for 7 nights at 281 dollars and change which,of course,I was ECSTATIC about.I paid 56 dollars to hold the room and was told I'd be charged with the balance when I checked in.I was under the impression that 281 MINUS 56 was 225 but when I checked in I was told my balance was over 500 dollars.Needless to say,my reaction to this WAS NOT GOOD!I made quite a scene in front of ALOT of people that were checking in and COULDN'T CARE LESS! I knew I was right and that's all that mattered. Finally, after alot of checking and rechecking on hotel managements part they ONLY charged me 305 dollars which was an EXTRA charge of 80 dollars. These IDIOTS at least worked weith me so even though I shouldn't have paid a DIME extra I let it go at that point so I could concentrate on just having a good time the rest of the week. Before I did that though I made DAMN SURE the whole front desk AND management knew EXACTLY HOW I FELT.I'm sure I wasn't the only person who booked rooms there EARLY at the rate I got and then got SCREWED OVER when they checked in.And,YES,I had printed out ALL THE ONLINE INFO I COULD at the time I made the reservation in February but there was one HUGE oversight on their part regarding this also.NOWHERE on the sight was there ANYTHING I could print that had the TOTAL PRICE OF 281 on it.At the time it bothered me but I figured the hotel would have plenty of records so I didn't worry about it.Now I believe they do this ON PURPOSE just so they can SCREW PEOPLE OVER LATER ON! So DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR and pay a little more to stay at a FIRST RATE HOTEL and NOT AT THIS DUMP!

I stayed here back in September of 05...and quite frankly, I've stayed at VOQ's on air force bases that were better than this place. You know it's not good when you practically need a step stool to get over the tub wall to take a shower (and I'm 6'). Maybe I just got the one crappy room in the joint?

Satyed here 3 nights the second week of May. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The 8 Pool complex remodel was nicely done. Casino was busy, at 1AM on Monday morning there were 20 table games open with people at each table. Good room prices, with the best shoe shine stand on the strip. Our 5th stay at the Strat, never a bad trip. Will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful value - yrasrev (12/20/2008) - 5 out of 5 stars
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Casino ran great special offers and the staff was great. Very highly recommended for the budget minded. In my opinion, the best value for your dollar in Vegas. Would return without hesitation.

Worst casino - misterpp (12/08/2008) - 1.5 out of 5 stars
Casino is one of the worse. If you are a low roller then, there is other casinos to play at that are better. The room we had was near the ice machine and a room that had a party, really noisy. The room only had a small window like, we were in jail. However, if you stay on the top floor. It is a whole new story. Rooms quiet and high ceilings. I have to give a low rating because, I only stayed in the good room for a couple hours but, stayed in the noisy room for a whole night. Gambling doesn't really pay well here either.

We have stayed at the Strat 8 - 9 times. Cost and location excellent. Easy parking, proximate to highways, clean, friendly, good food. Dollar for dollar, the best bang for the buck.

CASINO coupons - LuckyTL (10/09/2008) - 4 out of 5 stars
We got our coupon and also was able to spin the wheel. Won 25.00 in play money. Played it through on a slot machine and walked out with 80.00. Not bad for an hours play. Everyone was friendly. We were only going to stay an hour or so and ended up spending several hours there. Shopping was great and used the coupon book to get some good deals. Only down side is that it is not close to other casino's but we had a car so that was not a problem. Very friendly staff.

Stayed two times. Second time there was mold in the bathroom. Did not receive anything for the inconvenience of switching rooms. Actually paid to upgrade.

We loved the stratosphere and are coming back soon.
