Previous Post WRONG ! - pearlguy (01/28/2010) - 4.5 out of 5 stars
I stayed here in late October and there was plenty of FUll Pay VP. As well, I just checked the VP FREE site and they show FP VP for JoB, BP, DDB, etc. as well as various progressives This certainly isn't the Wynn, Bellagio or Venetian BUT it is GREAT value. BIG rooms, good food options, friendly staff and lots more and all at very affordable prices. I was so pleased in October that I'm going again in March ! Try it...you will not be disappointed.

SouthPoint - Bill S (01/26/2010) - 3 out of 5 stars
Definitely have the best outdoor spa in town. When they had full pay video poker, I stayed there a week and loved it. However ,they took out al the FP VP so I've had to say adious.

1st time staying at South Point - ccastrong (01/07/2010) - 3.5 out of 5 stars
This was actually the first time staying in the rooms at South point. Stayed 3 nights. Check-in was quick even with the long line. Was allowed to check-in at 2pm. I usually stay at my condo next door but couldn't get in. Did bingo for New Year's eve and it was great! The Tequilla bar drink special 530-7pm was a good deal for $2.00. Because like the other guy said you really don't get drinks at the machines. The gift shop had very reasonable prices. The rooms and casino were very clean. The only major complaint was the maid tried twice to enter the room without knocking early in the morning. Complained to front desk but didn't seem to care. My friend was really sick and was in the room all 3 days sleeping. The maid forgot to leave us the card you put in the door do not disturb and other things like glasses, shampoo, enough towels for 2 people, only decafe coffee. When we asked for things they were very nice. Maybe my expectation were too high after being used to a condo. But the room were not that cheap and they really added more when I stay extra night. I am not usually on this tight of a budget but they assured me my deposit would be immediately put back on my debit card. It wasn't for 3 days which I did not plan on. Also the parking is very far from the hotel. The Oyster bar was very good and the buffet. For the most part everyone was pleasant to deal with.

Recent Stay - Dave_M (12/30/2009) - 4.5 out of 5 stars
Stayed two nights in mid December. Great rooms. Casino was busy, with the basketball and bowling tournaments. Ate in the Coronado Cafe for late night dining, using our points, great biscuits and gravy. Returned twice more during our stay to eat late night. The South Point seems to be doing well in these tough economic times.

A GREAT PLACE - ALASKAMAN (07/18/2009) - 5 out of 5 stars
I just got back from my monthly trip to Las Vegas. I stayed and played at the South Point. I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Fantastic rooms, great buffets, excellent blackjack. I won on the $5 tables both days....and they comped my buffets both nights I played. Wednesday was "Prime Rib Night". Friday was "Seafood Night". Prime rib on Seafood Night too!!! Excellent Oyster Bar. Had the doz.Louisiana Gold Seal oysters for $15. About the freshest and best I ever tasted! Great casino. Very friendly and not overcrowded with a very helpful casino staff. Going back next month.

PRIME RIB DINNER - ALASKAMAN (06/19/2009) - 5 out of 5 stars
Definitely a Best Buy. Just got back. Had the Prime Rib Dinner in the South Point Coffee shop yesterday June 18, 2009 for lunch. Great Hotel/Casino. Won my lunch money playing $5 blackjack and then had the Prime Rib. Excellant food, value and service. Los Vegas Advisor is right on!

Very nice trial run - tonystewartrules (03/06/2009) - 4.5 out of 5 stars
I decided to try South Point on my last trip. I was staying at Silverton so as not to mess up my daily average I made the switch early. I arrived at 6:00 AM. I checked my bags as I knew it was too early to get a room. But I went to let them know I was there. I talked to a nice clerk and said to come back around 10. I said I would like a room if I could halfway up. So I went back and she gave me a nice room on the 10th floor. I went up called the bell desk and had my bags with-in ten minutes. I played the full pay VP machines and did not get much. So I went to play DDB and there were a LOT of 9/6 machines. I did do fairly well during my stay. A bit of a loss. I took a movie break at the very nice theaters. I did not try their restaurants since I have points to use up at SS so I went there. So I have no complaints everyone I did interact with was very nice. And I even talked to one of the security guards and I said I feel real safe there are a lot of you everywhere. Valet was fast I used it twice during the day. It is funny the valet parking is underground. I may be back.

Worse stay ever in LV - azdave (01/12/2009) - 1 out of 5 stars
Stayed: 12/30/08-01/02/09, king room-new tower. It gets a '1' only because there is no rating lower that can be entered. Over the last 5+ yrs, we have gone to LV/Laughlin 50+ times. We've seen the good, the bad, and now the ugly. A lot here, but a lot more on the negatives could have been written. The few positives are mentioned. Bottom line, avoid this place. Arrived about 4:30, just 1 person in line ahead of me at check in. No problems, done in a few minutes. The party in front of me inquired at the bell desk about having their lugguge taken to their room, and was told it would be an hour wait. Registration begins at 3:00, so it's been maybe 1 hr 45 min, no line at check in, yet an hour wait ?!?!?! The rooms are spacious. Big bathroom, but why no double sink? Also, our room had no coffee table for the loveset and no table and chairs by the window??? Half the room was void of furnishings?? Bed sheets and pillow cases were tattered. And the 42" TV? Hung crooked. Bingo parlor is one of the nicest I've seen. Big, easy to see number boards. We played in their NY Eve session. 600 people, hot, 4+ hrs, cocktail waitress came around once. If this was the first time they've held this, I'd say it went okay. If it's been held before, work is needed. Casino is spacious, large variety of machines, but wasn't ever crowded. No problem playing a machine you wanted. Maybe here's why. Drink service was the worst we have ever encountered. Let's see, I started out for about 45 minutes on 12/30 staying at the same machine. Drinks offered - 0. Went to Don Vitos. Back to a different machine. One hour later, got 1st drink. Got 2 more later. Total time on machine about 2 1/2 hrs. Went to another machine. Total time there, about 2 hrs. Drinks offered - 0. Have just had so much of a good time at the Southpoint, we decided to venture out (luckily had the car). (By the way, the strip shuttle was not being offered, much to many patrons dismay. It was on their website when we booked, but is now gone.) Over the next 9+ hrs we went to 4 different casinos. Never waited longer than 10 minutes after sitting down at a machine for a drink. Servers at each place returned about every 15-20 minutes. 3 of the 4 were busier than at any time we were in the Southpoint casino.

South Point Casino - bboyer09 (12/05/2008) - 5 out of 5 stars
This is a great place to play. The dealers are enjoyable, with plenty of $10 double deck bj tables. The cocktail waitresses are second to none for either looks or service.

SouthPoint is #1 - gapagels (12/01/2008) - 5 out of 5 stars
My wife and I have stayed her twice. Once when it was the SouthCoast(6 months after opening) and earlier this year. oth times it was super. The front desk staff are very good and try everything to help you with your stay. The restaurants are very nice with wait staff that take care of you like good restaurants do. The slots are generous, as i did not have to go into my bankroll until the third day there, on a 6 day stay. The rooms are large and very homey. When you put together the staff, the room, the restaurants, the slots, and the best price for what you get--Nothing beats the SouthPoint.

- tlongo (11/19/2008) - 5 out of 5 stars
Very nice hotel. Rooms are top class. Good buffet and above average restaurants. Lot of good VP machines all of them brand new and with speed control ( very useful to me ). Very friendly staff and casino hosts.

South Point - Ososdog (10/22/2008) - 4.5 out of 5 stars
Nice, friendly staff, cashiers especially. If you like to play 10/7 DB, they have those machines, upright style, in a hallway. Not very comfortable and a bit awkward. I guess they don't want you to play them. But the rest of the casino, Don Vito, Coffee shop, and buffet were great. If I did not play those 10/7 machines, I would have given SP a 5.

- slj274 (10/10/2008) - 4.5 out of 5 stars
I have stayed at the South Point twice. Both times I was impressed. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are top notch. The beds are so amazing you wish you could pack them to take home. The pool area is great, except for the astroturf, that was kinda lame and extremely hot. It is farther away from the strip, but closer to the better outlet mall and there is always the free shuttle!

rooms - dickinflorida (10/05/2008) - 3 out of 5 stars
The rooms are decent size, and I like the computer desk with the hook hook ups. I only wish the bathroom had a walk in shower. One major negative was receiving a Non-smoking room that was obviously a smoking room for months or years prior. The room stunk of old stale smoke. Thy didn't even try hiding it with scented spray.

South Point - bestbet (08/28/2008)
SP has become our number one choice (over previous hotels like MGM, Bally's, NYNY). Big rooms. Big bathrooms. Quiet. Good restaurants. Big sports book. Hands down the best parking valets in Vegas. Two stays this year, one for 4 days in April, 6 days in early August. Just plain excellent service.
