As football gets more and more popular, each year the casinos try harder to compete for football-related business. It's a fortunate situation, given that sports betting is easily among the best bangs for your gambling buck, as well as one of the few beatable casino games when approached scientifically and played by experts. But football's also one of the best examples of how gambling and entertainment can intersect. Hence, these pages will cover a lot of ground as the season unfolds, from reduced-juice wagering opportunities, to which bars in town are affiliated with your team, to the best football parties on Monday nights (which we encourage you to rate and review, just as we are).
National Finals Rodeo 2008
NFR time in Las Vegas means the whole town goes cowboy crazy, with an abundance of Rodeo events and promotions ranging from concerts to drink specials, autograph signings to hoedowns. This year the main event takes place from Dec. 4 - 13 and you'll find big-name country acts performing, plus free concerts, nightly parties, free beer and shots, mechanical bull riding, merchandise giveaways, and a whole heap more. We'll keep adding events as they're announced, so check back regularly for updates. Yee Haw!
As with all the big holidays, Las Vegas really goes to town at Christmas, and not just in and around the casinos. It's the most family-friendly time of year here, with light displays all over town, including spectacular ones in local neighborhoods and some distinctly Vegas-esque traditions, like decorated cacti. Gingerbread houses, skating rinks, concerts, and Santas abound, which makes up for the fact that a lot of the production shows are dark this time of year.
