The English Hotel is a $30 million four-story 74-room hotel downtown that opened the last week in February 2022. It's named for four-time James Beard-award-winning Todd English, who's a partner in the place and has a restaurant there, the Pepper Club, serving Japanese/Mediterranean fusion with a sushi bar and teppanyaki grill. (Pepper is the name of English's dog.)
The small boutique non-casino hotel is a definite departure for Las Vegas and intends to be, hoping to attract a select clientele (adults only, pets welcome) with its off-the-beaten-path Arts District location, a small ultra-private pool and outdoor lounge, an "elevated culinary experience powered by Todd English’s food and beverage program," and Michelin-star-quality room service.
It's expensive, but boasts that it doesn't charge a resort fee; with rooms starting at around $279, it doesn't need to.
