Downtown's first "carpet joint" and still its most upscale hotel-casino, the Nugget provides a range of rooms and suites of varying ages and levels of comfort, with the newest (and largest) rooms located in the no-smoking Rush Tower. Novel hotel amenities include a gold-dispensing ATM, an arcade, downtown's only hotel spa, and the Tank, the main hotel pool, which features a central shark aquarium with a self-contained water slide. Poolside gaming is available, and there's a small "toptional" area for European-style sunbathing. Other on-site amenities offered are a business center, a salon, myriad dining options, and the casino, which includes a poker room, race and sports book, and live keno.
