India's biggest lodging company, Oyo Hotels and Homes, bought Hooters for $135 million in August 2019 in a partnership with Highgate Group, a New York-based hotel and investment-management company. Highgate manages the hotel and Paragon Gaming continues to operate the casino as it did when Hooters owned the joint.
Founded in 2013, Oyo Hotels & Homes claims to be "the world’s third-largest chain of hotels, homes, managed living, and workspaces," with more than 23,000 hotels and 125,000 vacation homes globally.
Oyo invested $20 million upgrading Hooters (not much by Las Vegas renovation standards). Improvements were made to the casino, poolside bar, and 24-hour gym and we expect more in the future, as Oyo gets is Las Vegas legs. The Hooters restaurant, one of the highest-grossing locations in the chain, and the country's largest Steak ’n Shake remain the same. Perhaps the best news of all is that parking is still free.
