Westgate Las Vegas

Off Strip

Formerly the Las Vegas Hilton, the Westgate is a 3,000-room hotel-casino a half-mile east of the Strip next to the Convention Center (the property also has its own 200,000-square-foot convention space). Standard rooms come with two queen beds and 37-inch TVs; the new 400-square-foot Studio room provides a king bed, 60-inch LED Smart TV, rain-head shower system, and a wet bar with microwave and mini-refrigerator. Other suites go up in size all the way to the top-floor Sky Villas, Vegas' original whale digs (read that whole story in our book Whale Hunt in the Desert). The 25th and 26th floors comprise the concierge level; guests have access to the Concierge Lounge, which offers a full hot breakfast, snacks throughout the day, nightly cocktails with hot hors d'oeuvres, computers, printers, and an assortment of newspapers and magazines. The casino is typical, except for the race and sports "superbook," the largest in the city. Entertainment options include a theater, cabaret, and lounge; six restaurants run the gamut from an original Benihana to sushi, Italian, and a steakhouse. The Westgate is the second to last northern stop on the Las Vegas Monorail.
