An agreement has been made to allow online poker players in Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware can to play against each other in an attempt to boost liquidity. A sharing agreement has been in place between Nevada and Delaware since 2015, but the addition of the much bigger market in New Jersey should have a more significant impact, especially for the two smaller markets.

A 150-room Hyatt Place hotel and several fast-food-style restaurants will make up Silverton Village, a $60 million project to be built in stages around the Silverton. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in 2019. Silverton Village is the second major addition to the resort following the Berkley Las Vegas timeshare hotel and there may be more to come on an additional 30 acres of land controlled by Silverton.
A revised ticket schedule has been introduced for the Big Apple Coaster at NY-NY. Individual tickets remain $15 Mon.-Fri., but are now $17 on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The all-day pass remains $26 on weekdays, but is $30 on weekends and holidays. It’s $12 all the time for locals and military, and there are several packages available, including virtual-reality upgrades.

Barry Manilow has signed on for a residency at Westgate Las Vegas, returning to the venue at which he starred (when it was the LV Hilton) from 2005 to 2010. The show will debut in previews May 24-26 and hold its official opening June 21-23, with other announced dates of July 19-21, 26-28; Sept. 27-29; and Oct. 4-6, 11-13. CityCenter Holdings LLC, owned jointly by MGM Resorts International and Infinity World Development Corp., has sold the Mandarin Oriental to an undisclosed buyer for $214 million. The sale of the 392-room non-gambling resort is expected to close this summer.
Yesterday's high temperature missed tying the record for the day; the thermometer topped out at 96, one degree less than the 97 set in 1996. Today's high temperature is forecast to reach 94, five short of the record for April 27. The normal high temperature for late April in Las Vegas is 82. A cooling trend is on its way; strong winds from the southwest will bring lower temperatures (70s and 80s) over the weekend and into next week.

In last night's home opener of the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Vegas Golden Knights absolutely thrashed the San Jose Sharks by a score of 7-0. As astonishing as that is, it's even more unbelievable that all seven goals were scored by different players. What's more, this recapitulated the goal-scoring situation in the VGK's first-round sweep of the L.A. Kings: The seven total goals in all four games were scored by seven players. For VGK goaltender Marc Andre Fleury, it was the 13th playoff shutout and 67th playoff win of his career. It was also his third shutout in the first five playoff games. Uncertainty about the prospects for Wynn Resorts’ previously announced Las Vegas projects was heightened when new CEO Matt Maddox announced that the scope of Paradise Park would be scaled back at a minimum. Calling plans to spend $3 billion to develop both Paradise Park and the Alon-site project “unsustainable,” Maddox indicated that the PP lagoon would be restricted to hotel guests only and that a hotel would be built either next to the lagoon or on the Alon site, but apparently not both.
The U.S. Open Wrestling Championships begin today at South Point. This is considered a major meet in the U.S., with some competitions qualifiers for world events, so many of the country’s best wrestlers will be in the field. The tournament runs through Saturday, with tickets starting at $25.

The Bellagio is closing its coffee shop and replacing it with a New York City deli. Café Bellagio will close in August and the space will be remodeled to accommodate Sadelle’s, which will open in December.
The new edition of Hiking Las Vegas is in-house and ready to ship, just in time for the prime Las Vegas outdoor season. For years the go-to Las Vegas-area hiking guide, HLV covers more than 80 trails, varying in difficulty from relaxing family-friendly hikes to challenging climbs and scrambles, at Red Rock Canyon, Mt. Charleston, and Lake Mead. Changes were made in the design to make it easier to carry and use than earlier editions.
The Orleans is experimenting with virtual-reality tournaments. Enter a tourney for ArcheryVR as a single player ($10 entry) or SiegeVR as a team of two ($30). ArcheryVR has a $125 free-play prize and SiegeVR awards $300 FP. Playing sessions are 90 seconds and the tourneys run 4-10 p.m. weekdays and 2-10 p.m. weekends during a three-month trial. The Atlantic City Borgata’s attempt to recover damages from playing-card manufacturer Gemaco for flaws in the cards that led to a $10 million baccarat loss to poker star Phil Ivey has been rendered fruitless. A federal court judge ruled that if the Borgata were to prevail in court, the amount of the recovery would be limited to the cost of replacing the cards: “about $27.” In a related story, a UNLV student has patented a shuffler that uses light to disguise the patterns on the backs of cards. Pattern recognition from non-uniformly cut cards is what allowed Ivey to get the advantage for his baccarat wins.

Opening details have been released about the interactive Star Wars attraction coming to the Venetian. “Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire” will open April 27, with tickets starting at $32.95. Must be 10 or older to participate. The attraction has two other locations in Orlando and London.

The Mob Museum’s underground speakeasy and distillery opens today. It operates all day, but is accessible only as part of the paid admission to the museum until 5 p.m., when it’s open to everyone. It’s a cool bar that doubles as an educational exhibit focusing on prohibition, complete with homemade moonshine. LVA members can use the Member Rewards offer for a $4 discount on admission to the museum.
MGM Resorts is partnering with a Chicago-based renewable-energy developer, Invenergy, to build a solar-generating plant that will supply 90% of the daytime demand for electricity at the casino company's 13 Las Vegas hotels. The 100-megawatt array of photovoltaics will be located 25 miles northeast of the city, at the US 93 exit off Interstate 15 (the huge Apex Industrial Park). The project is scheduled to go into operation sometime in 2020. MGM is no stranger to solar power; the 20-acre array of cells on the roof of the Mandalay Bay Convention Center is the largest rooftop solar project in the nation.

According to a survey by Forbes, Las Vegas is the sixth most affordable city in the U.S. The salary needed to live comfortably in Las Vegas came in at $56,609, with the "cost of necessities" listed at $28,304 per year and median income at $50,822. Tucson, Arizona, ranked at number five and El Paso, Texas, placed in the number-one spot on the list with the cost of necessities at $25,075, median income $43,322, and salary $50,150.
Reno-based Eldorado Resorts Inc., in a partnership with Gaming and Leisure Properties Inc., has purchased the majority of Tropicana Entertainment Inc. for $1.85 billion. The deal includes Tropicana Atlantic City, Tropicana Laughlin and MontBleu in Nevada, and four other regional casinos. In a separate deal, Eldorado also acquired the Grand Victoria Casino in Illinois from MGM Resorts International for $327.5 million.

In a rare instance of a labor dispute shutting down a casino, Caesars Windsor has been closed since midnight on Thursday. The strike has forced the cancelation of reservations at least through April 12, with no resolution currently in sight.
As part of the big renovations at Palace Station and the Palms, several tables in the pits have been outfitted with phone-charging ports. Palace Station has 32 of the new tables and the Palms has 40. There are six ports per table, one for each player spot for blackjack and possibly mini-baccarat, pai gow poker, and other games that play on blackjack-style tables. The ports are not available on crap or roulette tables. Chargers have also been added to tables at Stratosphere.
It's too late to play it, but a trailer casino was in operation today. A trailer with 15 slots was open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Village Square parking lot to preserve the gaming license for what will apparently be a second Porchlight bar in the location of the former Lion's Tail. You likely didn't miss much; the trailer casinos we've checked out rarely have any decent games to play.
Two new gentlemen’s clubs have opened. The first is SCORES, back in town for a second run, but in a new location at the former Foxy’s just west of the Strip. One of our favorite Thai restaurants, Chada Street, has closed. The restaurant was one of the “Essential 52” choices in Eating Las Vegas ’18, listed dually with its predecessor, Chada Thai & Wine, which remains open at 3400 S. Jones. The Chada Street location will reportedly be taken over by Partage, a French restaurant from the owners of Eatt, another Essential 52 selection.
Curry Pot has opened in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian. It’s an Indian restaurant run by the owners of India Masala that operated out of the food court at the Riviera and it’s open 24/7, rare for a food-court-located restaurant.
Another of Las Vegas' top dining deals has sustained a price increase. The long-running ham & eggs and steak & eggs breakfasts at Arizona Charlie's have gone from $5.55 to $7.77 (with a players club card). Both are still served all day in the Sourdough Cafes at both casinos.
All player-account points were transferred to Westgate’s new club as of March 1, except points from the sports book. This is a separate transaction that players need to initiate at the book. If you have club points earned from sports betting, you have until September 30 to transfer them.

A ruling on legalized sports betting was not delivered by the Supreme Court today. We see different dates circled by different sources, but it appears that the next possible (or at least likely) date for a ruling will be April 17.

The price of the exclusive tasting menu at e by Jose Andres at the Cosmopolitan has gone up $25 to $275 per person.
