Where's the closest place to camp -- in a small tent -- to the Las Vegas Strip?
There are tent sites out by the Red Rock Recreation Area off Charleston (before you get to the 13-mile drive), and at Lake Mead. Both sites are quite removed from the Strip, though, and require a car to access them.
