It's a short answer, that's for sure! The Nevada Gaming Control Board reports monthly on the statewide gaming win, which is the gross income from gambling, computed before expenses and taxes.
The latest figures to be released are from April, when Nevada casinos registered a win of $855.7 million, a gain of 6.1 percent on the same month the previous year. The Strip win was up 7.4 percent, wtih a 12 percent jump for slots, while downtown experienced a whopping 25 percent gambling-win leap. It was sixth month out of the last seven that the Strip reported an increased win; in March of this year, winnings dropped 14.9 percent compared to the same month in 2011.
