Can you give us a history and update on Danny Koker, "Counting Cars," and Count’s Vamp’d. I read what you shared recently regarding Rick’s Restoration and as well as Pawn Stars. Therefore, I was just curious about Danny Koker and Counting Cars, etc.
"Counting Cars" was a reality-television series shown on History Channel, yet another spin-off of "Pawn Stars." It was filmed in Las Vegas, where it chronicled the daily activities at Count's Kustoms, an automobile restoration and customization company owned and operated by Danny "the Count" Koker, who'd appeared as a recurring expert on "Pawn Stars." Like "American Restoration," another spinoff, the series followed Koker and his staff as they restored and modified classic automobiles and motorcycles.
The series debuted in August 2012 and ran for 10 seasons though 2021, with a total of 190 episodes.
Koker grew up in Cleveland and Detroit in a family with deep roots in the Ford Motor Company; he's a self-proclaimed self-taught mechanic. He's also the lead singer for a Vegas hard-rock band, Count's 77, which performed at the huge Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota in August.
Koker opened Count’s Vamp’d Rock Bar & Grill on W. Sahara near Rainbow Blvd. in 2009 as a live-rock venue. It closed in June and the property was put up for sale for around $4 million, though we couldn't find any record of its selling.
Danny is now 61. Count's Kustoms is still in business and welcomes the public at its free museum with a private collection of cars and bikes. It's open 10 a.m.-4 p.m, located at the shop at 2714 S. Highland Dr., just south of Sahara in back of the Hilton Grand Vacation Club tower. Of course, fans of the show can buy Count's Kustoms merch there.
Koker updates his goings-on via social media and his website from time to time, highlighting recent restorations and appearances at car shows. He's also, reportedly, "in discussions" with two networks for several potential new TV concepts. So he might return to the small screen in the future.
And he's still married to Korie Koker after 10 years.
I have a question I can't find a clear answer to. As a foreigner, what's the easiest way to deposit cash in Vegas? I'm not talking about big amounts, but what if I want to deposit $500? Or $5,000? Can I open a bank account in Vegas? Can the casino wire it for you? Do they charge for this service? What if it's table game or poker money? Will the casino still perform a wire if you have the chips on you? I've only heard about this with slot jackpot. It seems like getting cash is easy enough by using an ATM or depositing front money, but I never hear about getting money back home. Not that I pretend I'm going to win, but I wonder what happens to people who do and are foreigners.
