Poll Preview: Will you book or take a trip to Las Vegas without a vaccine for COVID-19?
A couple of months ago, research firm and brokerage house Macquarie surveyed 417 adults ages 21 and up on their sentiments about planning a trip to Las Vegas. To the question, Will you visit the Las Vegas Strip without a vaccine for COVID-19, 65% of respondents answered no. Extrapolated to 2019 visitor volume, that equals 28 million potential visitors, compared to roughly 15 million who would.
The survey also asked if respondents would "feel comfortable" booking a vacation to Las Vegas before there's a vaccine. The results: 40% said they wouldn’t, while 12% said they would be OK to do that at the time of the survey and 30% claimed they would from one to three months later.
The survey also asked if COVID-19 would impact the duration of their stay in Las Vegas and 60% opted for no impact, with 37% staying for a shorter amount of time and 3% for longer.
Finally, compared to prior visits, 50% claimed they'd spend the same amount of money, 40% would spend less, and 10% would spend more.
Seeing the results of the Macquarie survey got us curious about how our readers would respond to the exact same questions a couple of months later. So here's what the poll will look like.
