You are continually taking surveys, yet I never see the results anymore. In the past, results were in a QOD about a week later. Why the lack of feedback?
In April 2019, in a question about the number of Questions of the Day taken up by the polls (poll preview, poll itself, poll results, all times two per month), we asked for feedback about the issue. Then we ran a poll on it. Based on the consensus and our own priorities, we kept the poll preview as a dedicated QoD (adding up to two per month) and undedicated the other four in a month, opting instead to tack on the links at the bottom of the regular Q&As on the days that we post the the poll itself and the results.
Well, we've kept up on posting the links when the new polls begin every other Wednesday. But admittedly, we've kind of gotten out of the habit of posting links to the poll results from the poll that just ran. For this, we apologize.
From now on, we will post the link to the results when they're ready.
Before, we dedicated a QoD to the poll results on the Saturday after the old poll closed. The reason it took a few days to do so is that, though we can track the results of the voting in real time, the poll won't go live until a certain amount of text appears in the "Analysis" field in the back-of-the-house poll function. And it takes that long to do the analysis and compose the text.
Starting today (we're moving Results Day up one to Fridays), you'll find your poll link at the bottom of the QoD, which you can click to see the recent results. Deal?
If so (or even if not), here's the link to the previous poll on your favorite pages on this website.
But we should add that you can also see the poll results for every poll we've ever conducted, simply by clicking the "Search the Archives" link at the top right of the poll page. That takes you to the pages with, currently, the 334 polls we've conducted since August 2007.
