Regarding the Wynn controversy, will the Wynns still be allowed to live at the top of the hotel or will they want to?
Steve Wynn and his wife of seven years, Andrea Hissom, don't live at the top of one of the hotel towers. Rather, they live in a duplex villa, created by combining and redesigning two high-roller guesthouses overlooking the 18th hole of the championship golf course Wynn picked up when he bought the Desert Inn, which was closed last December to make way for Paradise Park.
Building the central staircase between the two units was the main engineering challenge, exacerbated by the constraints on making noise and raising dust, given that the villa is so close to the hotels. According to the interior designer, “The whole project was conceived in four months and executed in five — working limited hours."
A story about the villa in Architectural Digest in 2011 described it. “It unites an open living area on the lower story with a sybaritic master suite above. The pool terrace and the private balcony enjoy a romantic view: emerald greenery misted by the spray of a majestic waterfall (a refreshing final challenge for the golfers).”
Wynn rented his 6,233-square-foot reconfigured villa, one of 36 VIP accommodations on the original golf course, for $25,500 per month ($410 per square foot). He also rented the villa on the third floor of the building, presumably for guests and a lack of neighbors sharing walls, for another $16,000 or so a month. But he gave that one up in 2016, as he spent more and more time in Macau. The rent covered all taxes and utilities.
The Wynns had until June 1 to vacate the premises, but moved out late last month.
I have a question I can't find a clear answer to. As a foreigner, what's the easiest way to deposit cash in Vegas? I'm not talking about big amounts, but what if I want to deposit $500? Or $5,000? Can I open a bank account in Vegas? Can the casino wire it for you? Do they charge for this service? What if it's table game or poker money? Will the casino still perform a wire if you have the chips on you? I've only heard about this with slot jackpot. It seems like getting cash is easy enough by using an ATM or depositing front money, but I never hear about getting money back home. Not that I pretend I'm going to win, but I wonder what happens to people who do and are foreigners.
