One of the best happy hours in town runs weekdays in Anthony’s Prime Steak & Seafood at M Resort. It’s a short window, from 5 to 6 pm only, but that’s not a problem, since the HH deals are food only, so all you have to do is order up once. It’s buy-one-get-one, which sounds like it requires at least two in a party (one person usually wouldn’t want a double order of the same thing). But you’re allowed to mix and match, so it’s like getting the second choice for free. This may be the first HH we’ve ever covered where our top recommendation is the soups. Anthony’s has always made an excellent clam chowder and it’s as good as ever. But as good or better is the French onion. Both come in large portions, so careful about how much you order alongside. Two of us definitely took it too far, going for a triple play by ordering shrimp cocktail, duck spring rolls, ahi poke, and shrimp ceviche, a sizeable portion of which we had to box. Drinks aren’t discounted, but they’re reasonable, with beer for $5-$6. The HH is in the lounge. Our bill with two beers was $55.
