Feast Buffet

Red Rock Resort
Price: $25 or less
Type: Buffets

This is, in many people's opinions, the best buffet in the Station Casinos chain. It's certainly the most popular; with more than 500 reviews on Yelp (an average 3.5-star rating, which is high), the lines are often quite long.

It's by far the biggest; you can walk off calories just by going from one end to the other. The room itself is attractive, as is all the decor at Red Rock, and it's kept clean and all the food is replenished frequently. We've also noticed, over the years, that this buffet has remained fairly consistent (whereas Texas and Boulder Stations' Feasts have gone up and down a bit).

The buffet has the usual selections of American, Italian and pizza, Mexican, Asian (including sushi and curry), BBQ, carving station, salad bar, and dessert, but also an international island (hummus and falafel) and veggie burgers. The hand-scooped gelato gets the raves, along with a variety of pies, cakes, and pastries. At the weekend brunches, they serve unlimited champagne and mimosas.

LVA Review

A solid effort. Not spectacular, but fresh and varied. The serving stations are Asian, International (Mexican), American, and Barbecue, along with salad and desserts. There’s also a sushi station that operates for lunch and dinner. The sushi is what the RR ads have been touting, but the reality is less than the promise. For lunch, it’s cut rolls only. They’re a slight notch above the usual buffet sushi, due to being made right at the station and replenished quickly, but they’re still just rolls. Dinner adds regular sushi: tuna, yellowtail, and ebi (shrimp). Some of the better dishes are sliced baked chicken and stuffing, ox-tail soup, and in the here’s-what-we-thought-of-that-no-one-else-has category—stromboli. Red Rock is priced exactly the same as Green Valley Ranch, at $8.99 for breakfast, $10.99 for lunch, and $17.99 for dinner. You get $2 off dinner and $1 off breakfast and lunch for showing your Boarding Pass card. Kids 4-10 are half the adult price (under 4 free). Dinner is upgraded with the better sushi, fresh shrimp, and prime rib. If those items aren’t important to you, lunch is the value play.
