Festival Buffet

Owned by Station Casinos, the Festival Buffet at Fiesta Rancho is a small version of a Feast buffet. It's one of the least expensive spreads in town. So with Italian, American, Asian, fajita station, specialty chili and salsa bar, and the Mongolian grill (the best play here), it's hard to go wrong paying for for one or two diners.

But with the LVA coupon, you get two buffets for the price of one, or 50% off if you're solo. Here's a choice: Spend a couple bucks more for a McDonald's combo meal or go to a good-enough buffet and stuff yourself silly.

LVA Review

This buffet was reviewed in the March 1999 LVA; some of the information contained in this review may no longer be accurate.

We've reinstated the Fiesta's Festival Buffet as our pick for the best in Las Vegas based on several considerations, but it was a trip to the Monday-only Hawaiian specialty night that sealed it for us. There really isn't anything else like this luau in town. Staples include whole suckling pig, kaluha pork and cabbage, manupua, lau lau, poi, and won ton soup served from a big wok. Then there's the seafood: sashimi (trays of it), fresh raw oysters, steamed clams, peel-and-eat shrimp, moon fish, grilled ahi, mahi mahi, beer-battered cod, and island concoctions like lomi lomi, salmon ceviche, ogo, and taco and tuna poki. And this ain't no hokey poki. It's the genuine article, validated by the fact that more than half of the diners appear to be of Polynesian descent. The only weak link is the desserts. This specialty buffet is served Mondays only from 4 to 10 pm for $11.95 and your LVA 2-for-1 coupon is accepted. Dinner on other nights (same hours) is $8.99. Wednesday is seafood night ($12.99). Breakfast is served 7-10:30 am ($3.99). Lunch is served 11 am-2:30 pm ($6.49); Saturday and Sunday brunch 7 am-3 pm ($7.99). Note: A little bonus for slot players-Monday is triple-point day for Fiesta slot club members.
