LVA Review

This restaurant was reviewed in the December 2011 LVA; some of the information contained in this review may no longer be accurate. This is the latest better-burger joint (In-N-Out, Smashburger, Steak ’n Shake, etc.) to hit Las Vegas. Five Guys was founded in Washington D.C., but now has locations all over the country, including three in Las Vegas at 10271 S. Eastern, 9484 W. Flamingo, and the Cannery casino. Burgers and fries are almost all they do and Five Guys makes a big deal about its “100% fresh beef and fresh-cut potatoes fried in peanut oil.” Prices start at $3.69 for the “little hamburger” and top out at $6.59 for a bacon cheeseburger. The hook is the condiments, which come free with the burgers. There are a lot of them, including lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, jalapenos, green peppers, steak sauce, barbecue sauce, and hot sauce, so you can buy the little burger and make it pretty big. Fries are $2.89 for a regular portion and $4.89 for a large. These are good burgers, but here’s the clincher—free peanuts. Yes, free peanuts again and there are barrels full of them (throwing the shells on the floor isn’t encouraged here, though).
