Grand Lux Café is from the creators of The Cheesecake Factory. The café has an extensive menu, ranging from breakfast and snacks (pizza, burgers, chicken dishes, etc.) to dinners serving Asian-inspired salmon, pasta dishes, chicken Madeira, and then off to desserts. Group dining is available, call for reservations.
This restaurant was reviewed in the December 2006 LVA; some of the information contained in this review may no longer be accurate. We’ve finally gotten around to trying the Grand Lux Cafe, which serves as the coffee shop at the Venetian. We’d heard fantastic things about this restaurant from some, while others dismiss it as “just another Cheesecake Factory” (Grand Lux is owned by the same company). We like the Cheesecake Factory and we liked Grand Lux, too. One thing’s certain, you won’t have a problem finding something you want to eat—the menu is enormous and much of it is served around the clock. The selection runs from salads and sandwiches (most $10 and under) to pasta, fish, and steaks (topping out at $29.95). There are also lots of appetizers, so you can munch or have a full meal. We tried the crab & asparagus omelet ($12.95) for breakfast and a pot-roast sandwich ($13.90) and pasta fresca special ($10.95) for lunch. All good; all enhanced by excellent service. Grand Lux is known for its desserts. We didn’t have room after the big entrées, but have heard raves about the crème brûlée ($6.95) and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies ($5.95). Grand Lux is a strong dining option center-Strip, good any time of day.
