Medley Buffet

Aliante Casino-Hotel-Spa
Price: $25 or less
Type: Buffets

*This buffet is currently closed

This buffet is wildly popular with the locals from the surrounding neighborhoods, such as Sun City, at the northern edge of town (much more than Santa Fe Station, which is nearby). Since Aliante opened in 2008 as a Station Casino, it's reminiscent of Station's Green Valley Ranch: modern classy decor, very clean, and fairly spacious. It's also often compared to Red Rock's buffet, though the Medley is several dollars less expensive.

For lunch, there's a make-your-own burger and hot dog station. Dinner features a fajita station with specialty chili and a salsa bar (like Texas Station's Feast Buffet). The ice cream comes in soft serve and scooped with lots of toppings.

There are specialty nights Tuesday-Thursday for the price of the normal dinner. Tuesday, they roast whole pigs for Hawaiian night, with perfectly sized squares for you to pick from; to our knowledge, this is one of only two pig roasts at a buffet in Nevada (the other is at Silverton) and it gets packed.

All in all, though it's pretty far from downtown and even farther from the Strip, Vegas veterans and buffet aficionados should find their way here at some point. Especially if you're a Las Vegas Advisor member and have a 2-for-1 coupon to save up to $24.99 on Saturday's prime rib and crab buffet.

LVA Review

This buffet was reviewed in the November 2017 LVA; some of the information contained in this review may no longer be accurate.

(Hawaiian dinner)—On Tuesdays, Aliante puts out a whole roasted pig, with a few other Hawaiian foods around it—Kahlua pork, Hawaiian sweetbreads, Huli Huli chicken, teriyaki pork chops, lau lau (pork wrapped in greens), and teriyaki-pineapple meatballs. The customers were piling on the pig, but Hawaiian nights are tough to pull off and this one lands a little too heavily on the sweet and greasy side for our taste. The non-Hawaiian selections are standard, with only the dozen hand-scooped ice creams and softserve vanilla and chocolate yogurt standing out. The retail price is $16.99, so half-off with your MRB voucher pulls this one back to viability from a good-deal perspective.

(breakfast)—Redemption for Aliante’s Medley Buffet comes in the $6.99 breakfast, the third least expensive in Las Vegas (only Sam’s Town at $5.99 and Cannery at $6.59, all three with club cards, are cheaper). Along with standard breakfast-buffet offerings there’re giant breakfast burritos and chilaquiles with a salsa bar, a bone-in ham at the carving station, two action egg stations, and decent brunch salads (pasta, tomato, tuna, and bean). If you’re staying in the northern ’burbs or heading out to the north or northeast, this is an excellent play, especially with the MRB discount.
