Located next to the 117,000-gallon saltwater aquarium, home to 4,000 tropical fish and swimming mermaids. The Mermaid Restaurant & Lounge is open to guests 21 years of age and older and offers fish & chips, sandwiches, salads, wraps, and more.
This restaurant was reviewed in the July 2005 LVA; some of the information contained in this review may no longer be accurate. Mermaids, the new lounge in the rapidly renovating Silverton, is an exceptional appetizer play. No problem with quality here. Some selections on the huge list of choices cost as little as $3 (salty bar nuts) or $4 (elephant garlic), and most are in the $6-$10 range. These include crab cakes, fish tacos, shrimp kabobs, popcorn shrimp, and smoked-salmon pizza. Our favorites were the red chili ($6.50), artichoke & lobster dip ($7), Gorgonzola burger ($9), catfish nuggets ($10), shrimp Caesar salad ($11), and an awesome fire-roasted artichoke ($7.50). Beers are under $4 apiece. The chic lounge has TVs for watching sports and the hotel’s big mermaid tank is adjacent. Serving hours for food are 10 a,.m. to 3 a.m. daily. This is a good one.
