LVA Review

This restaurant was reviewed in the December 2013 LVA; some of the information contained in this review may no longer be accurate. This is one of the most basic recommendations we’ve ever made in this spot, but when we find ourselves going back to a place over and over on our own time, it means there’s something worth telling you about. Nevada Chicken Café makes ribs, sandwiches, and burgers, but the play here is the grilled chicken. A whole chicken with two sides, tortillas, and salsas from a help-yourself bar is a straight twenty-dollar bill, tax included. It adds to the flavor—both literally and figuratively—that you can see them cooking outside on big smokers (you can often see the smoke wafting as you come up the street). You might have trouble picking the sides, due to the selection that includes mashed potatoes & gravy, sweet potatoes, Spanish rice, black beans, mac & cheese, cucumber salad, Caesar salad, chicken pasta, and fruit salad, among several others, but the rice and beans lend to making a mean chicken burrito if you want to go that route. Dine in or take out. The restaurant’s slogan is “Fast. Fresh. Flavorful.” and that hits it on the head. Nevada Chicken Café is located straight up Sahara (west) about four miles from the Strip. Hours are 10:30 am-9 pm Mon.-Sat. and 10:30 am-7 pm on Sunday.
