The Paradise Buffet makes a stab at "island flair," with some palm trees and faux horticulture, but other than the greenery, it's an old-Vegas buffet in an old-Vegas casino in Old Vegas (downtown).

This buffet was reviewed in the June 2001 LVA when it was still named Fremont's Seafood Fantasy Buffet; some of the information in this review may no longer be accurate.
The Fremont’s Seafood Fantasy Buffet is priced at the going rate ($14.99) for the city’s piscatory smorgies, but it’s distinctly better than most. The draw is the big chilled-delicacies island in the center of the room, where you can load up on cold crab legs (on the bigger side of medium), peel & eat shrimp, oysters on the half, and lobster claws. It’s the claws that this buffet has always been known for. They’re big, firm, and constantly replenished (cold claws only may be the best way to serve lobster at a buffet). The rest of the buffet also goes one better than the others, with seafood preparations that have noticeably more zing. Notable dishes are crawfish pasta, seafood enchiladas, and a spicy seafood minestrone (dig deep in the caldron for the good stuff). There’re also several fish selections, fried oysters, calamari, and mussels and steamers, plus carved beef and a taco bar. Except for weak desserts and the absence of cold plates and horseradish, there’s nothing to complain about here; even the restrooms are worth mentioning for their convenient location directly outside the buffet. The Fremont seafood buffet runs on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 4 to 10 pm. Lines are heavy until about 9, but they move fast.
