Vegas Parking Update

Now that there is no longer free parking at CZR Strip properties for all locals, I want to review the situation and give you some good news about new options.

  •  Check here for list of free Strip and near-Strip parking and shuttle options (with a list of the various charges for where it is not free).  One bad-news change is that the Rio shuttle to the Strip has been discontinued except during special events like tournaments.  The Gold Coast shuttle is still running but I have heard reports that it is not always available to everyone who lines up; people who have a room at a Boyd property have first dibs on the seats!

  • Be aware that anyone can park free at any Strip MGM or CZR property for one hour, handy for short errands inside like placing or collecting a sports bet, doing some business at the players club desk or kiosk, or picking up or dropping off people.

  • Veterans have a great option, an older program at MGM properties and now a new one at the CZR ones.  Both veterans programs include a players club tier upgrade –  to Platinum for CZR, to Pearl for MGM – and one of the benefits of both of those include free parking.
  • Of course, you can reach those levels – and score the free parking benefit – by playing but that involves risking your money.  There is one other way that doesn’t involve any risk – unless you can’t handle credit cards responsibly.  Both offer no-fee credit cards that will get you to those levels with a free-parking benefit.

Feel free to put in the “Comments” any details that you can add to help out your fellow parkers.

Thanks, we are still trying to make arrangements for early Dec.
Can you remind me if there is a link for senior promotions and I will be looking forward to your Dec promotions info.
Gerda, there are many people who travel to Vegas for the fun of a vacation, I don’t think the general public would all boycott a vacation city, Vegas , Orlando or any beach destination and going to Biloxi for most people would be much more expensive than just adding resort fees and parking..( in Airfare alone)…

    Thanks for the information.
We just got back from Vegas Friday. Paid no parking fees and played at the Palms, Sunset station, and Sun coast. We ate good & won at VP & slots. (Crazy Money was our cash cow) You don’t need to go and PARK at the strip to have VEGAS fun. (over fifty visits thanks to S.W.A. R.R.’s)
    B-)

Apparently, Caesar’s Resorts is doing away with the free flight once a person gets to 80,000 points (Actually 750.00 towards two tickets). Can you find out if it will be available this year? We already earned it!

Law Vegas used to be one of our favorite destinations . Enjoyed the shows , restaurants and of course the casinos and Video Poker . Used to catch direct flights from Atlanta to Vegas three and four times a year for many years since 1992 until the video poker pay tables went down , then came the resort fees and now one even has to pay for parking . If everybody would boycott Vegas for just a short time , just long enough to hurt the bottom lines of these mega corporations , changes would happen in a hurry , but of course that’s wishful thinking . For as long as people put up with this nonsense of all these fees and low layout percentages on machines , why would they change a thing . Remember right after 9/11 when nobody flew out to Vegas , we went, and the casinos and the Strip was empty. It was eery , but the offers were great . Our casino trips take us now to Biloxi. Still no resort fees and free parking and VP still has decent pay tables . Get a nice amount of free play for our level of play and more free food than we could or would ever eat . I’m just amazed that people still go to Vegas over and over again as we used to in years past when Vegas was fun and affordable .

Jean, I am not staying at Rio again, as I liked the Diamond benefit, of first boarding. I used to like to stay at the Rio and go to Bally’s & Harrah’s to gamble and enjoy the Diamond Lounge. There is simply no reason to stay there again and no reason for base level Diamonds, to keep the card!
