December Vegas Promotions

Watch for bonus points and other promotions on 12/12/12.  Also there may be end-of-the-world promos on 12/21/12.  Check Scot’s bonus point list often.

As always, check the rules for all promotions at the players card desk.  The devil is in the details!

PALMS

Special charity promotion through December 20:  Take to the Club Palms desk a new unwrapped toy worth $10 or more and receive $10 in free play.  Toys will be delivered to several Las Vegas charitable organizations.

The “Play, Earn, and Win” promotion continues 10 am-10 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays through December 28, and it’s a goodie for those who don’t need any more “stuff.”  I don’t have the complete details yet but here is what was described in our mailers:  “Earn Visa gift cards valued up to $100 or gift cards from Rebel gas, McDonald’s and Coffee Bean or free slot play!”

There is also another “Play, Earn, and Win” promotion on Sundays, Dec. 2, 9, 16, and 23, to earn holiday gift bags. Strange – that is on one of the same Swipe and Win days described below.  Double-dipping opportunity?

On Tuesdays. Dec. 4, 11, and 18, there is a Swipe and Win promo, requiring 10 base points on slots or 100 on video poker to qualify to swipe for various free gifts or free slot play.  Plus there is the same requirements for a Swipe and Win on Sundays, Dec. 2, 9, 16, and 23.  Both of these run from 9 am-10 pm.

There is also a “Play and Buffet” promotion running in December on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  So many promotions, so many rules – you better stop at the rack around the corner from the slot club desk and pick up the rules for each one – and read all the fine print!

And if you don’t mind temptation, you might want to stop by the now-open Chocolat bistro/creperie/cremerie, located where the tattoo parlor used to be.

SILVERTON

Blingo Bingo has been discontinued as of Tuesday, November 27.

They are running a pull tab promotion in December.

Their weekly Tuesday slot tournament will not be held on December 25.

Their yummy Monday senior buffet (50+ and with players card) for a very frugal price of $5 continues in December, 11 a.m-8 p.m., but will not be offered on December 24 or 31.

THE “COAST” CASINOS

The Albertson gift card promotion carries over to the first two Sundays in December,at all 4 casinos.  See Nov. 22 blog for details.   Also at all casinos they are celebrating the “12 Days of Giving” from December 12-23, giving out plush Pepsi stuffed animals for 200 base points each.  Max of 2 per account per day, 8 over the 12-day promotion.

The Gold Coast is running a “Hot Seat Giveaway” 3-8 p.m., on December 1, 7, 14, and 21. They are also offering an “Earn a Buffet” special every Thursday:  100 points for breaky, 200 points for lunch or 300 points for dinner.  Limit of one buffet per Thursday.

TUSCANY

10x points continues on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  However, there are no promotions to earn gift cards or pull tabs.  These have been replaced by drawings on Saturdays and Sundays.

Does the Palms still no-promo the +EV machines, or no-point them, or some other restriction? I remember when the Palms was taken over, the slot manager quite frankly expressed a “death to positive EV video poker and the scum who play it” mentality, so I was quite surprised to find that it had been brought back in any form.

The fine print with Palms promos has been quite complicated and at times, utterly opaque to the slot boothlings, so it’s very important to read carefully and be aware of any exceptions, restrictions, booby traps, etc. It’s true at any slot club booth, but particularly at the Palms, that you’ll often be told “NO” which is actually code for, “I don’t know, but telling you no is the quickest and easiest way to get rid of you.”

BTW, for those of you using out-of-town room offers, be aware that they CHARGE A RESORT FEE EVEN ON A “COMPED” ROOM. This low-class move has been emulated by a few other casinos, but the Palms seems to have pioneered it.
