I am not surprised that we are seeing a lot of comments on my last blog discussion about comps for table game players. It is rare that we see consistency in casino policies, even among the children of a mother company. Dysfunctional families in most cases!
So I suggest that if you are interested in learning more about table game comps, you go back and read the comments following that last blog entry. I think the biggest take-away is that you can’t assume there are “general” guidelines. You must research each casino. Quiz various people– pit bosses, dealers, other players, and hosts.
And remember, at many casinos hosts may not have as much power as they used to have, but I have found that they are able to often stretch benefits for those customers who have pleasant attitudes and aren’t greedy comp hounds. “Just ask,” if you do it nicely and in an undemanding manner, still works wonders a lot of the time!
I want to wish the both of you a Happy and Safe Memorial Day
