New Nice Thrift Store

Here’s some good news for extreme frugalites:  the opening of a huge new thrift store in Vegas.  Actually this new Savers store, located in the SE corner strip mall at Sahara and Decatur, replaces the smaller store that used to be on Spring Mountain near Decatur.

Thrift stores always have been my all-time favorite first-place-to-look-for-bargains, from the time my kids were babies right down to the present time when my grandkids are now teenagers.  When my daughter, Angela the Frugal Princess, comes to town, we always save one afternoon for shopping at Savers.  We love the way the store is highly organized, down to all the clothes sorted by types, then sizes, and then colors, easy to spot that certain color of blouse we need to wear under a jacket we need to match.

This new store is just as organized, but with a huge expanded  inventory of clothes for men, women and children, in all sizes; household furnishings, including electronics,  furniture, and linens; decorative items; toys; books; and who know what else you will find.  It is the largest Savers in the United States, and a very clean fun place to bargain hunt.   The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m

This location also houses a Community Donation Center, providing a convenient place for residents to drop off their quality reusable clothing and household goods free of charge.  For every donated item, Savers pays their charity partner,  Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada.

So you can be thrifty and also feel good that you are contributing to your community.

    Hi Jean!
I share your love of the thrift store. I went to the savers web site to check the address but it must be too new to have it listed. Is itin the Sahara Decatur Plaza?

Thanks, Jean, I’ll check it out. While I’m not a local, I usually always stop at the Savers on Tropicana and Pecos (I think)it’s by a Walmart, when I am in town. The Savers in our town closed up, and I really miss it – you can find some wonderful bargains.

Wish we had a Savers where we live!
